Acure Organics Moroccan Argan Oil + Argan Stem Cell Shampoo & Conditioner
I apologize in advance for this lengthy review, so I’ve highlighted the key points. These products were just too good to not get into detail with.
Even though Shea Moisture products worked okay for me, my scalp often felt irritated from the shampoo and they contained honeysuckle. Recently Acure Organics products have been quite popular with natural bloggers so I decided to try it for myself. There are such few shampoos and conditioners that are sulfate free, paraben free, honeysuckle free, and mostly organic, but Acure has that covered. The ingredients are nothing short of natural and amazing for dry hair.
Because the list of ingredients is quite long for both of these products, please click here for the shampoo ingredients and here for the conditioner. Acure claims that “Organic Argan Oil + Argan Stem Cells, CoQ10, and Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil—high in Omega 7, make up our patent-pending Triple Moisture System. Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil —high in Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, adds shine. Locks in moisture, repairs damage, [and] strengthens follicles.” After using this product for a month I definitely believe this statement and that these ingredients are key in treating dry or damaged hair.
Aside from the mostly organic ingredients there are a few other things that Acure does that really put them above and beyond any other brand I’ve come across so far, and I’ve spent hours searching. I haven’t spoken about it much on this blog yet but sustainability is also important to me. While these bottles are made of plastic, 70% is from recycled materials, and of course are recyclable once you’ve emptied them. The ingredients are also certified fair trade, which helps ensure that the communities that these were harvested from get fair compensation for them. And lastly, buying Acure products helps benefit clean water projects in needy communities. Way to go, Acure.
As for the actual review, there’s not much to say because they are simply magic. I was hooked after my first use and didn’t want to finish the Shea Moisture products (but I will). They smell absolutely divine. The shampoo has a thinner consistency than Shea Moisture, which I find helps me distribute it better. It lathers so well you’d have no idea that it’s sulfate free, and rinses clean even with hard water. The conditioner is out of this world as well, so much so that I had to ask my husband to feel my hair in the water because it’s never felt so silky in my life. After my first use when my hair dried it looked like this:
I got the most perfect curls. And for those who don’t know, I haven’t used heat on my hair since October 31st, 2012. This is all natural. There are some wild strands because it had been windy out that day, but my hair curls so much more consistently! I don’t think I will ever use a curling creme again.
I don’t think I’ll be experimenting again any time soon because this shampoo and conditioner make my hair feel perfect. I highly recommend this to anyone with dry or curly hair. With the combination of fantastic ingredients and sustainable choices by Acure, you really can’t go wrong in giving this product a shot. 20/10, home run, Acure Organics shoots, and they score.
